Hi I'm Adeline!
I'm a social anthropologist & researcher
My job is to design and deliver high-quality research to support NGO policy and advocacy work with government agencies.
What that really means is that I identify and package evidence that is difficult for civil servants and parliamentarians to ignore, to try to make the world a fairer place.
Putting together evidence that has any chance of being taken seriously is not straightforward. Do it wrong and you can damage the credibility of your organisation. If you're serious about harnessing evidence from your work to bring about change, get an expert on board. Someone like me with experience of working in a complex policy environment at a national level.

I've got over 10 years' experience doing real-life research and using it to bring about change
I work with you to design data collection for your project using the right mix of semi-structured interviews, observation, ethnographic fieldwork, literature and policy reviews, small-scale surveys, social media research. I routinely work through interpreters, and train & use teams of volunteer researchers.
for a range of audiences
You need the right kind of writing for maximum impact for your project. Ask me about how I can help you with specialist research reports, policy briefings, enquiry & consultation submissions, information & advice materials, witness statements & affidavits, and writing for the web & social media.
Fearless public speaker
Talking to people is at the heart of my approach to research & analysis: before, during, and after data collection. I've polished my talking and presentation skills over the years at conferences, AGMs, training events, parliamentary enquiries, stakeholder meetings, public meetings & demonstrations, and supporter events.
Like all good researchers I can apply my skills to a wide range of sectors and issues. I've been doing a lot of work recently on immigration detention and deportation; the nexus between immigration enforcement and criminal justice; access to justice; legal aid, legal advice, and public legal education.
